It is important to remember that crystals absorb both positive and negative energy, therefore it is good practice to cleanse them routinely. There are many ways to cleanse and recharge your Brack. A few are mentioned here...
Full moons bring opportunities to recharge your crystal. If possible, place your Brack outside on the ground or a natural surface overnight during the full moon. If leaving your crystal outside isn't an option, placing them on a windowsill that gets direct moonlight will achieve the same effect. If you prefer a more frequent cleanse, sage and/or Selanite are much more convenient.
"Smudging" is the act of burning sage and using the smoke to cleanse your space or specific items, like crystals. The steps are easy: place sage (loose or a smudge stick) in a fireproof vessel, burn one end until it starts to smoke (roughly 20 seconds), gently blow out the flame (you should see embers on the end of the sage - be careful not to send them flying out of the vessel), and either move through the space you'd like to cleanse, or pass the desired items through the smoke as it remains stationary.
** Please remember fire safety!! Never leave burning sage unattended and if embers fall out of the vessel, make sure to smother them immediately. Please don't directly inhale the smoke - protect those delicate lungs!! **
Once you are finished smudging, extinguish the remaining sage by pressing it into the fireproof vessel until the smoke stops.
Selenite is a beautiful healing crystal that comes in many forms and is considered an extremely powerful cleanser. For that reason, placing other crystals on or next to Selenite will help to draw negative energy from them and ultimately recharge them. Keep in mind that while Selenite is very powerful, it should be recharged as well. Placing it in the sunlight for a maximum of 30 minutes gives it a quick charge (longer than that may cause it to fade). If you're afraid you'll forget it or miss the timer, placing it it an area that gets moonlight overnight is just as good (doesn't have to be a full moon).
Some prefer to cleanse crystals by submerging them in water or pink Himalayan salt. Please keep in mind that both can be caustic to the stone, depending on how delicate it is. For this reason, you may prefer to protect the stone by placing it in a small class jar before submerging in salt or water for about an hour.
** CAUTION **
While these crystals have associated physical and metaphysical benefits, there is no guarantee that any will be manifested. Therefore, crystals should not take the place of any prescribed medical regimen.
